After 20 years in human resources management, Emily Stasiak was ready for a change. Feeling unfulfilled in her previous role, she began exploring new opportunities that aligned with her values and skills. When she discovered ecomaidsa rapidly growing residential and light commercial green cleaning franchise, she knew it would be a great way to combine her organizational talents with her passion for green living.

"We're always trying to look for healthier alternatives in day-to-day life," Stasiak said. "We enjoy clean eating practices like farm-to-table, and I thought, ‘Why not apply that to your cleaning products and process?’ I have pets, I have kids, and I have friends with health issues. It just makes sense."

Stasiak's journey to franchise ownership began unexpectedly when she was researching a potential HR position at Happinestecomaids' parent company. During her research, she discovered the company was seeking franchisees for their cleaning business.

"I had done a little bit of cleaning in between jobs with a friend of mine, and I didn't hate it," Stasiak said. "I thought, 'Oh, I could do this. This is always like a good backup.' So when I saw that ecomaids was looking for franchisees, I said to my husband, 'Okay, let's look into it.'"

For Stasiak, the franchise model offered an attractive blend of independence and support. Having worked at McDonald's as a teenager, she was somewhat familiar with the franchise model and understood the benefit of the guidance the franchisor would provide to her.

“When you invest in a franchise, the franchisor provides you with all the tools, and you go out and utilize them," she said. "When I did the cleaning work with a friend, I wanted to help her get organized and set up all of the business-related things, but I just didn’t have the know-how or tools necessary to do that. Knowing that I wasn’t starting from the ground up with ecomaids was very reassuring.”

After conducting thorough research and speaking with other franchise owners and ecomaids leadership, including conversations with CEO Rachel Southard, Stasiak felt confident in her decision.

"After talking with Rachel — who was wonderful — and some other owners, the sentiment was nothing but positive," Stasiak said. "All of the franchisees could see the vision for where the company is going, as well as the support the franchisor was providing to get there, and I did, too.”

“The ecomaids team quickly recognized that Emily was the perfect fit for our business during the due diligence process,” said Eric Martin, senior vice president of franchise development at Happinest. “With over 20 years of experience in HR, she understands the critical role that team building, development and company culture play in creating a successful, sustainable business. Having successfully implemented these strategies for others, Emily knew it was time to pursue her own venture — something she had envisioned for nearly a decade. Now, that dream has become a reality. We are excited to welcome Emily to the Happinest Brands and ecomaids franchise family.”

As she prepares to begin serving Southern and Northern Ocean County and Southern Monmouth in New Jersey, Stasiak is focused on building a strong team and growing her business. Drawing from her HR background, she emphasizes the importance of employee satisfaction.

"I think one of my goals is to build out and retain a great team," she said. "If you take care of your employees, they'll take care of you and help you grow."

She also expressed excitement about the service she will provide the community, noting how important it is to have safe cleaning practices that account for pets, kids and older family members who may be sensitive to the chemicals found in traditional cleaning products.

As she prepares to launch her business, Stasiak will join the ecomaids team for further training and education at the company-owned corporate location in Lexington, Kentucky, gaining hands-on experience that will inform her growth in her own market.

“We are so excited to welcome Emily and our newest owners to training next month at our flagship location in Lexington,” Southard said. “There’s no substitute for hands-on learning, seeing best practices in action and having the opportunity to ask real-time questions in a working model. This is where confidence is built and businesses take shape. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey with Emily and our new owners, and I can’t wait to see them take this next big step toward success.”
