Why This Edible® Franchisee Chose to Become a Multi-Unit Owner

Mohammed Momin owns three Edible locations in Georgia, closely following the franchise’s streamlined business model and utilizing its top-notch support.

At just 28 years old, Mohammed Momin is already a successful multi-unit franchise owner with Edible®, an innovative e-commerce hub uniquely supported by locally owned brick-and-mortar locations across the globe. Momin, along with his cousin, owns three Edible franchises in Alpharetta, Duluth, and McDonough, Georgia.

“When I graduated from college, I was in the job market, but then my cousin bought an Edible store in Alpharetta in November 2018,” said Momin. “Shortly after in January, we bought another franchise in Dallas, Georgia. We operated the two stores for around a year or so before we found the McDonough store for sale, which is a higher-volume store. We sold [the] Dallas [location] but we ended up buying another store in Duluth.”

Franchising is a family affair for Momin. Growing up in a lineage of Dairy Queen franchisees, he understood the benefits of this business model from an early age. Before opening an Edible, Momin earned a degree in physics and helped manage his family’s Dairy Queen franchise. This experience set him up well for owning multiple Edible locations.

Why Edible Is Great For Multi-Unit Owners

Momin decided to invest in Edible three times over because of its streamlined business model and excellent support system.

“Edible offers a turnkey approach that avoids many of the headaches of starting a business from scratch,” Momin said. The brand’s strong online ordering system, especially during peak seasons, was a big draw for him.

He also appreciated how easy it was to start with Edible. “In other franchises, you get bogged down with vendor paperwork, but Edible has one portal for everything and a team dedicated to your success,” Momin said.

This level of organization and support made Edible an attractive choice for him and his cousin.

Strategic Growth and Community Support

Momin has been strategic about growing his business. He recently introduced shipping options at the McDonough store, allowing next-day delivery via FedEx to most of Georgia and neighboring counties in Florida, Alabama and Tennessee. This new service has opened up new markets and brought more customers to his stores.

“We realized that our busiest times are in the first few quarters of the year. By focusing our efforts during these peak periods, we can maximize our resources and provide exceptional service,” Momin said. This approach has helped his franchises thrive.

Edible’s continuous innovation also excites Momin. The brand’s expansion into products like floral arrangements and baked goods offers new growth opportunities.

“Every season, Edible introduces new items, and we aim to grow in categories beyond fruit arrangements,” he said. This diversification has helped Momin’s stores attract a broader range of customers and stay competitive.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Momin’s franchising journey is the involvement of his family. During peak seasons, his cousins and siblings come together to support the business.

“Having family support during busy times makes a huge difference,” Momin said. “It’s comforting to know we have a strong support system that helps us handle high volumes effectively.”

Advice for Aspiring Franchise Owners

For those thinking about multi-unit franchising, or franchising in general, Momin has some advice: “Thoroughly read the Franchise Disclosure Document and don’t hesitate to ask questions.”

He also emphasizes the importance of following the franchisor’s guidance and using its proven marketing strategies. “Edible provides a formula for success; you just need to follow it,” he said.

Momin’s strategic approach and commitment to his family and community have been key to his success with Edible. His focus on expanding services and introducing new products offered by the franchise continues to drive growth and enhance customer experiences.
