Robert Maynard, co-founder and CEO of Famous Toastery, a Charlotte-based breakfast, lunch and brunch concept, appeared on QSR Magazine’s “Fast Forward” podcast with Editorial Director Sam Oches to discuss how navigated the pandemic to continue serving customers. Maynard explained how Famous Toastery took advantage of off-premises dining while doubling down on its core brand principles.

“You’re not thinking about anything else but survival. Nothing else matters,” Maynard said. “We made the menus smaller — everything you’re supposed to do, we did in a couple days. We rolled out online ordering in four days, we had curbside delivery the day we shut down. We put out emails about what we’re doing to clean — anything you can do to make people feel as safe as you can during this time,” Maynard said.

Maynard also went in-depth on the importance of curbside pickup and delivery for their brand and how they were able to leverage what the Famous Toastery brand was really good at — serving breakfast, brunch and lunch.
