The better breakfast segment of the restaurant industry is well on its way to becoming one of the most popular opportunities in franchising. And now, the brand driving that trend forward—Famous Toastery—is bringing its unbeatable concept to the City of Brotherly Love.
Franchisee Chris Phillips inked a deal with the brand to bring Famous Toastery to Philadelphia for the first time. He’s the ideal local owner to spearhead this development—Phillips has years of restaurant franchise experience under his belt. But while he owns two Elevation Burger restaurants, Phillips says Famous Toastery brings something completely new to the table.
“The biggest thing that stands out about Famous Toastery is the quality and freshness of the food. Everything we serve is made in-house daily—there aren’t a lot of restaurants out there that can say that,” said Phillips. “It’s also a concept that never loses its appeal to customers. If you go out for a burger one night, odds are you won’t have another one for a few weeks. But breakfast is a habitual meal that consumers always want to enjoy.”
The increasingly popular breakfast industry is also perfectly primed for growth in Philadelphia—the city is lacking a unique concept like Famous Toastery. The area is home to traditional diners, but Famous Toastery’s menu and superior customer service is sure to stand out from the competition and resonate with local consumers.
“We can’t wait to be up and running in the Philadelphia market. It’s a completely untapped city, which gives us the opportunity to dominate the entire better breakfast segment in the area,” said Robert Maynard, founder and CEO of Famous Toastery. “Between our commitment to fresh food and unmatched customer service, there’s no doubt in my mind that Famous Toastery will take off in Philadelphia as soon as Chris’ location opens its doors.”
Right now, Phillips is focusing on opening the brand’s first Philadelphia location. However, he plans to grow with the brand and bring Famous Toastery to new communities in the area. Phillips’ ultimate goal is to operate at least five locations. In order to make that goal a reality, he’ll continue to work with Famous Toastery’s incredibly supportive corporate team.
“The brand’s founders—Robert and Brian—really care about their franchisees’ success. It’s a great organization to be a part of, especially now that they’re experiencing rapid growth in cities all over the country,” Phillips said. “I’m excited to introduce the concept to the Philadelphia community, and continue to be a part of Famous Toastery’s overall development efforts.”
