Fast Casual: Fazoli’s Ditching Artificial Ingredients

Fazoli’s plans to introduce a clean food menu and eliminate all artificial ingredients by June 19.

Fazoli’s is joining in on the clean food menu craze.

By June 19, Fazoli’s will be the third restaurant overall — behind Panera Bread and Chipotle — to offer a menu free of artificial sweeteners, flavors, preservatives and colors.

Fazoli’s has invested more than $1.5 million dollars to achieve this goal.

"Fazoli's is proud to take the lead among national brands under 1,000 locations to offer a completely clean food menu. We credit Panera and, recently, Chipotle in doing the same, and are surprised that other larger restaurant systems haven't done so as well,” said Carl Howard, president and CEO of Fazoli’s.

Fazoli’s clean eating initiative is part of the company’s brand turnaround, which was fueled by 15 consecutive quarters of same-store sales growth.
