Food Delivery Startup Munchery Has Ceased Operations

The San Franciso-based company was founded in 2010.

Munchery, an on-demand food delivery startup, has ceased operations, according to a TechCrunch report.

The article noted that Munchery laid off 257 employees in May of 2018 and intended at the time to focus more on San Francisco, its biggest market.

“Since 2010, we have been committed to bringing fresh, local, and delicious meals into your homes along with all our customers across the country,” the company said in an e-mail announcement on Monday, according to the article. “We’ve been delighted to work with world-renowned chefs, experiment with diverse and unique ingredients and recipes, and be a part of your holiday feasts and traditions. We have also enjoyed giving back to our community through meal donations, volunteer service, and so much more.”
