Denver, Colo. — 2020’s long list of challenges proved no match for <a href="https://footprintsfranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=footprints-floors-sells-64-franchises-in-2020-prepares-for-more-growth-in-2021-2714759" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Footprint Floors, the 100-plus-unit flooring franchise</a> out of Denver that is quickly becoming one of the most exciting opportunities in franchising. The fast-growing brand blew past its ambitious development goal of 40 new franchises in 2020, signing agreements for 64 new franchise territories for the year.64 new franchises would be an eye-popping number for most brands in any year, but in 2020, a year defined by a global health crisis that all but shut down vast swaths of the economy, it’s nothing short of astounding.&nbsp;According to Bryan Park, Footprints Floors’ CEO, much of that growth came from existing franchisees who expanded their operations in 2020.“We saw tremendous growth from our franchise owners this year, and that’s exactly what we want to see,” Park said. “It’s one thing to get a new franchisee, or five or ten, but it’s another thing —&nbsp;and arguably a far more important thing — if every one of those franchisees finds so much success once they get up and running that they decide to expand into new territories.”One of the franchisees who decided to expand his operation this past year is Eduardo Reyes, a Footprints Floors owner in San Antonio who added a second territory to his operation within 30 days after opening his first and plans to open a third early in 2021.“I decided to go into franchising because I knew that if I followed a model and found a good brand, I could be successful. With Footprints Floors, there’s no overhead, and no brick-and-mortar store or employees I have to worry about,” Reyes said.Kyle Battles, a Footprints Floors owner in Chicago, also added a second territory in 2020 and said his sales continue to grow.&nbsp;“For the past several months, people have been at home staring at issues they wouldn’t normally find, and now they’re calling us,” he said. “Over the last few months business has been more consistent, and last month was our biggest month yet.”Footprints Floors is uniquely well-suited to meet the demands of a new consumer and homeowner landscape shaped by COVID-19. As remote work and virtual learning continue to play a prominent role in people’s lives even after cities and states relax social-distancing guidelines, families are looking to make their homes more comfortable, functional and attractive, and that starts with floors.“We saw a huge surge in interest in 2020, and that’s not something we expect to die down anytime soon,” Park said. “The world has changed, and people are spending more time at home. Work-from-home has become the new normal, and people are no longer putting off those home projects they’ve had on their lists for months or years.
