What once started as a single children’s play center in Manhattan, New York is now a franchise powerhouse. <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/chrismyers/2017/01/03/for-todays-entrepreneur-there-is-more-than-one-way-to-drive-growth/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=forbes-recognizes-songs-for-seeds-unique-concept-and-drive-for-growth-2711567#603115fe69e8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">BodeTree CEO and Forbes contributor Chris Myers</a> was a big fan of the songs for seeds brand before it became what it is today.&nbsp;Formerly known as apple seeds, the children’s education program began gaining attention from many children and parents––even Chelsea Clinton.“The concept is such a hit that I often wondered why there weren’t more apple seeds locations across the country,” said Myers. “Eventually my curiosity got the best of me, and I met up with the company’s founders to learn more.”The founders of apple seeds, Allison and Craig Schlanger and Bobby Berna and Alison Qualter Berna, realized that there was a need for kid-friendly venues and decided to export a part of the brand in order to grow more locations. And the music program songs for seeds was born, which lead them to franchising.“In the case of apple seeds, a direct growth-only strategy would have been too capital intensive and challenging to successfully pull off,” said Myers. “Fortunately, the team possessed the creativity and foresight to explore alternative paths to grow.
