FOX: Trump Halted $181 Billion in Regulatory Costs on First Day in Office

Trump's already working aggressively to curb regulations.

On Monday, Trump signed an executive order to cut two regulations every time a new rule is introduced. This aggressive action to cut down on regulations comes after promising to cut 75 percent of regulations, at least. According to the American Action Forum, the administration’s memo to freeze all recently finalized and pending regulations resulted in stopping rules that would have cost $181 billion.

"On day one in office, President Trump’s Chief of Staff, Reince Priebus, signed a memo to all executive agencies imposing a regulatory moratorium," wrote director of regulatory policy for the American Action Forum Sam Batkins. "This may sound like an extraordinary action, but President Obama’s then-Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, penned an almost identical memo eight years ago."
