Snapology is a children’s enrichment brand that uses hands-on STEAM programs to help kids learn through play. Through classes, camps, parties and school programs built around LEGO bricks, K’Nex, robotics and technology, Snapology engages children in science, technology, engineering, art and math while they think they are simply having fun.
1. What Is the Brand Overview for Snapology?
About the Brand
Founded in 2010 in the Pittsburgh area by sisters Lisa and Laura Coe, Snapology grew out of watching their kids’ love for building blocks and other “snappable” toys and realizing how powerful that kind of play could be for teaching core concepts. The sisters, both with backgrounds in math and science, set out to create enrichment classes, camps and parties that make STEM and STEAM more accessible and engaging, especially where traditional schooling leaves gaps. The company began franchising in 2015 and has since expanded across the United States and internationally as a year-round STEAM education franchise.
Mission: Snapology’s mission is to inspire children to pursue STEM-focused futures through educational play and hands-on learning from an early age.
Vision: Snapology’s vision is to prepare children from all backgrounds for the challenges and opportunities ahead by making high-quality STEAM learning experiences fun, accessible and woven into everyday life in communities around the world.
Unique Selling Points (USPs)
Learning that feels like play. Kids build with LEGO bricks, K’Nex and other familiar toys, so they see Snapology as a fun activity while they quietly pick up real STEAM concepts along the way.
A full menu of programs for busy families. From after-school classes and school-break camps to birthday parties, workshops, field trips and memberships, parents can plug their kids into Snapology in the way that best fits their schedule.
Curriculum built around real education standards. Core programs are aligned with Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, giving families confidence that the fun is backed by serious academic design.
Big focus on confidence, social skills and communication. Kids collaborate, present their creations and practice problem-solving, building teamwork, communication and self-confidence, not just technical skills.
Inclusive and accessible experiences. Snapology offers programs for children with special needs and works with communities to make sure kids from different backgrounds can participate, including access to grant-funded programs in some areas.
Programs where families already are. Locations offer discovery centers in some markets and community-based classes in schools, libraries and other local facilities, making it easy for families to access quality STEAM activities close to home.
2. What Are the Franchise Opportunity Details?
Why Franchise With Snapology?
Mobile, low-overhead model. Snapology’s mobile ownership structure allows franchisees to operate without a large fixed facility, bringing programs directly into schools and community venues while keeping operating costs in check.
Partnership-driven growth. The model is built around partnerships with schools, libraries and community centers, giving owners clear channels to reach families and fill programs quickly.
“Unfranchise” culture. Snapology positions itself as a collaborative, family-like system rather than a rigid franchise, inviting owner feedback and ideas to shape programs and keep the brand at the front of the STEAM enrichment space.
Tailored support instead of one-size-fits-all. Franchisees receive support that matches their needs, including systems help, curriculum guidance and general business coaching, rather than a generic template.
Flexibility to fit local markets. The brand recognizes that a large metro area and a smaller community look different, and it gives owners the freedom to adapt programs and outreach while following proven systems.
Mission-driven impact with business upside. Owners build a company that gives kids new learning opportunities, often tapping into grant-eligible programs and community initiatives that can open doors and deepen local relationships.
Multiple ways to earn revenue. Franchisees can generate income through after-school programs, camps, workshops, parties, field trips, memberships and specialized offerings like scout events or competitions, creating a diversified revenue mix within one brand.
Third-party recognition. National rankings and awards in the children’s enrichment and STEM categories help validate the concept for schools, parents and prospective partners in a new territory.

3. What Franchisee Support Does Snapology Provide?
Pre-Opening Support
Before opening, Snapology walks new franchisees through an eight-step discovery and onboarding process that clarifies goals, reviews the brand and FDD, analyzes territories and funding options, and introduces candidates to the home office team. By the time the franchise agreement is signed, the corporate team has helped owners map out their launch timeline and prepare a marketing plan so they can start promoting the business with confidence.
Training Programs
Snapology’s initial training is a mix of classroom and on-the-job learning held in Bedford, Texas, and is designed to give owners a solid foundation before they open. The program covers everything from an introduction to the brand and program portfolio to supply management, marketing and advertising, daily operating procedures, scheduling, logistics, sales and website management, led by the president and supported by a detailed operations manual and business management tools.
Operational Support
Once the business is open, franchisees receive comprehensive, ongoing support that ranges from general business and curriculum guidance to help with day-to-day operations. With more than 150 locations in the system, the corporate team offers daily operations tools, tailored coaching and marketing support so owners can continue to grow and refine their local Snapology presence over time.
Technology and Tools
Snapology backs its franchisees with a suite of technology and tools, including the Snapology Manager business management system, a proprietary curriculum and a Learning Management System that houses program content and training resources. The brand also invests in new solutions such as virtual learning platforms and provides built-out systems for marketing, advertising and operations so owners can plug into proven technology from day one.
4. What Are the Franchise Requirements for Snapology?
Eligibility Criteria
Snapology does not specify any franchisee requirements with regards to liquid assets or net worth.
Snapology looks for owners with real-world leadership or education experience rather than a specific resume. Ideal candidates are either corporate or small-business leaders used to making financial decisions and managing teams, or education and engineering professionals who are comfortable following systems, working with parents and kids, and engaging with schools and community partners. In all cases, owners are expected to be hands-on, people-focused and ready to actively grow the business in their local market.
Operational Commitments
Snapology expects franchisees to take an active role in running the business, including managing instructors, building relationships with schools and community partners, handling scheduling and overseeing daily program delivery. Owners are expected to be present in the business, especially during the early stages, to establish partnerships and drive enrollment. The brand does not present semi-absentee ownership as an option; the model relies on hands-on leadership to build trust with families and local organizations.
Funding Assistance
Snapology offers guidance and connections rather than direct in-house financing. As part of the discovery process, the team introduces candidates to funding partners and small-business lenders and walks them through territory analysis alongside financing options, helping prospects understand different ways to fund startup costs and choose the structure that fits their situation. The brand notes that it maintains relationships with small-business lenders but does not publicly list specific institutions or programs, so the details are covered one-on-one as candidates move through the process.
5. Are There Franchisee Success Stories?
“After being a stay-at-home mom for 10 years, franchising Snapology gave me a perfect opportunity to re-enter the workforce and use my previous experience. Our kids love LEGOs and fully embrace the creative, hands-on learning Snapology offers. The support from the team has been incredible every step of the way — especially during the purchase from a previous owner and through training. We truly feel we’re in great hands and excited to grow together as a family and business.”
- Maya Wu, Franchisee — Chapel Hill, North Carolina
“We chose Snapology because we loved the brand and wanted to bring something educational and fun to our community. As moms, it was important to us that our kids could be part of the company. Being part of a franchise meant we didn’t have to start from scratch — and the ongoing support from the Snapology team has been invaluable. After over 10 years, we’re proud to be deeply connected to our community, building relationships with families, schools, and partners. If you’re passionate about STEAM and creating meaningful experiences for kids, Snapology is the perfect fit.”
Snapology’s primary competitors in the STEAM enrichment space include Bricks 4 Kidz, Engineering for Kids, Club SciKidz, Mad Science and theCoderSchool.
Snapology stands out by blending play-based learning with a standards-aligned curriculum that appeals to both families and schools. Its mobile, low-overhead model lets franchisees serve multiple venues without a fixed facility, and its broad mix of programs — from after-school classes to camps, parties and school partnerships — gives owners diverse revenue streams while keeping kids engaged year-round.
