For the latest iteration of its <a href="https://1851franchise.com/1851-franchise-s-2019-franchise-development-website-awards-an-introduction-2709828#mainTrending" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Franchise Development Website Awards</a>, 1851 Franchise did a deep dive into more than 175 websites to determine the brands that stood out from the crowd. 

1851&rsquo;s panel of judges evaluated each franchise development site according to three criteria: quality of site, quality of content and quality of form. Sites were scored on a five-point scale in accordance with these three criteria for a maximum score of 15 total points; the overall website rankings are based on a composite average of these scores.

Over the course of the month of May, each of the top 20 franchise development sites as determined by the judges will be broken down, one by one, to highlight their strengths and what stood out to the judges. 

Coming in at No. 18 is <a href="https://carepatrolfranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=franchise-development-website-awards-carepatrol-lands-at-no-18-in-2019-top-20-2709918" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">CarePatrol</a>. The senior care placement franchise received a composite score of 11.3 out of a maximum 15, with its quality of site score coming out to 3.9, its quality of content scoring a 3.8 and its quality of form scoring a 3.6.

While noting that the use of stock photos hurt his ranking of CarePatrol&rsquo;s franchise development site, 1851 Chief Development Strategist Sean Fitzgerald pointed to the site&rsquo;s variety of content as a strength. &ldquo;The site has a good call to action and provides visitors with different types of content downloads while also making great use of video and populating different pages with well-placed franchisee testimonials.&quot;

Twenty-eight locations had already gone dark as of late December, with remaining sites scheduled to shutter across eight states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina and Wyoming.&nbsp;At the center of the complaint is the franchising “stack” of ongoing fees and pass-through costs that keep a system running. ARC Burger allegedly owes more than $6.5 million, including royalties, advertising fund contributions, technology and training fees, rent and taxes, and that payments stopped in December 2024. Hardee’s also argued in the lawsuit that the franchisee’s cash flow was not being used to bring accounts current.&nbsp;Hardee’s, for its part, is framing the shutdowns as a contractual enforcement issue, not a brand-wide retrenchment. “These closures are a result of ARC Burger’s failure to cure its defaults under its franchise agreements, despite solid sales,” a Hardee’s spokesperson said.&nbsp;The situation highlights a familiar franchising pressure point: unit economics.
