After 30 years, <a href="https://fostersfreeze.com/franchise/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=franchise-times-fosters-freeze-to-open-first-new-location-in-decades-2715415" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Fosters Freeze</a>, a California-based drive-thru franchise, is opening their first new location with a refreshed look and new technology. The franchisees are <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/jared-abbott-ab316912a/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=franchise-times-fosters-freeze-to-open-first-new-location-in-decades-2715415" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Jared Abbott</a>, a multi-unit operator for the brand, and his father, Bruce Abbott. The family inked the deal for their first restaurant in 1954."Having been around for a long time — I grew up in the business, and I'm over 60 — it is quite interesting to see the number of things that come back," said Bruce Abbott. "Fosters has definitely benefited from it. Burgers went out of favor; now they're second to none in the world as far as food. And our ice cream has never fallen out of the top-tier position."The new location is set to have an updated look and modern technology throughout. It will feature a double drive-thru, a new kitchen layout, a new point of sale and new technology tools.
