Fresh Coat Painters, the residential and commercial painting franchise, is heading into the second half of 2022 with strong tailwinds. Over the past six months, Fresh Coat has seen three record-breaking sales months in a row. Now, with plans to cross the 200-unit mark this year, the Fresh Coat team is looking for passionate and qualified franchisees to establish Fresh Coat as a truly iconic painting brand.

“There is a lot of negative talk about where the economy is headed this year, but we’ve seen exceptional growth so far in 2022, both from new and existing franchisees,” said Fresh Coat's VP of Operations Tom Tucker. “We’ve tried to focus on helping our owners be proactive and diversify their business, which has allowed us to stay ahead of where the industry is headed — demand for painting services is growing, both in the residential and commercial segments. We’ve also really focused on overcoming staffing issues by emphasizing in-depth training and development programs. These factors have helped our owners scale their business in 2021 and into the first part of 2022.”

Over the past two years, Tucker says Fresh Coat has proven to be a uniquely pandemic-proof business, especially as homeowners spent more time investing in home services during lockdown. According to a report completed by Home Advisor, home services represent a $506 billion market in the United States.

Now, Fresh Coat is proving that consumer demand isn’t slowing down anytime soon and is giving entrepreneurs an exciting opportunity to leverage the brand’s proven and low-cost business model to achieve success.

“Our franchisees don’t need a brick-and-mortar facility, which keeps overhead costs down,” said Tucker. “They can also tap into diverse revenue streams, including residential, commercial and national accounts, without any extra fees. We want to grow the brand holistically, and we have the marketing support in place to ensure we are able to drive a very high number of leads, which takes a lot of the pressure off of our owners. Overall, franchisees don’t need to be painting experts or focused on reinventing the wheel — we provide the business model, trusted brand name and support so they can be successful with Fresh Coat.”

And the Fresh Coat team continues to build out that support infrastructure. For example, this year, Fresh Coat held a soft launch for a brand-new, custom-developed estimating software Smart Quote, as well as introduced a new customer website. The new tech will be integrated into every aspect of the Fresh Coat business, including a CRM that seamlessly interacts with the brand’s new website.

“Added functionality, like the ability for customers to schedule their own quote appointment right on the site, and concerted SEO efforts are already showing positive results,” said Fresh Coat VP of Marketing Jim Farinacci. “Google search rankings and conversion rates are higher and gaining momentum. We've elevated the customer experience and streamlined the sales process, and that's a win-win. Website leads are automatically entered into the Smart Quote CRM. Franchisees save time, which allows them to focus on growing their business instead of data entry.”

Since the start of 2022, a select number of Fresh Coat franchisees have been testing out the new Smart Quote software. “They are already telling us that the platform is handling a lot of the work they had to do themselves in the past,” said Fresh Coat Senior VP of Commercial/National Accounts Greg Platz. “They are blown away by the potential this platform has for the brand. We had the success of our owners in mind when we built this platform. They provided us with feedback, and we leveraged that to include all their wants and needs into the system.”

The Fresh Coat team plans to fully launch the new smart quoting software systemwide this year and says that franchisees will have all the training and support they need to get started.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2022, Fresh Coat President Tara Riley says the Fresh Coat team is gearing up for aggressive growth, with plans to hit 200 units by the end of the year.

“If you look at how franchises grow, once you get over the 125 mark, there tends to be massive growth up to 400 units,” said Riley. “We are really feeling that momentum right now. In five years, we want to be the number-one painting company in the U.S. We know that means we have to find the right franchisees, help them grow profitable businesses and continue to expand our footprint. Now, as we achieve those goals faster than ever, the time has never been better to join the Fresh Coat team.”

The total investment required to start a Fresh Coat franchise ranges from $53,850 to $76,750, including the $44,900 franchise fee. For more information, visit https://freshcoatfranchise.com/.
