The franchise purchased equity in a French bakery chain best known for its partnership with Starbucks.

Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh has made a new investment in bakery chain La Boulangerie.
 
According to a recent press release in QSR Magazine, the fast-casual Mediterranean franchise has purchased equity in French bakery chain La Boulangerie. La Boulangerie is best known for a partnership it struck with Starbucks in 2012, which ran for three years before the coffee giant severed ties.

“Today’s announcement is just the first step in an incredible journey that we are embarking on together. And that is great news for fans of fresh, high-quality and approachable French and Mediterranean cuisine,” said La Boulangerie founder, Pascal Rigo.

The primary focus of the new partnership will be on growing both brands in new and existing markets.
