Greg Roquet recently joined <a href="https://speedeeoilfranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=greg-roquet-brings-30-years-of-industry-experience-as-speedees-new-vp-of-operations-2712705" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">SpeeDee Oil Change &amp; Auto Service® </a>as the leading oil-change service franchise’s new vice president of operations. Roquet takes the place of Mike Guasch, a 28-year SpeeDee veteran who left the company to pursue his dream of owning his own SpeeDee franchise. With Roquet at the helm, he intends to continue the brand’s dedication to franchisee support.Roquet has worked in the auto industry in some shape or form for nearly his entire career, starting out pumping gas when he was just in high school. Roquet bought his first Big O Tires store in 1980 and owned three locations in the San Francisco Bay Area over a 30 year span, and a location in Napa, CA. He also spent many years on the corporate side of Big O Tires, where he served as regional vice president for the Western U.S. and&nbsp; vice president of franchise development. Roquet has spent the last nine years as regional director for Tire Pros, another large national franchisor.Over the course of his career, he has owned seven total franchises, four of which have been in automotive. He owned a business brokerage firm called Murphy Business and Financial, where he served as master franchisee for Northern California, and a franchise consulting firm called FranNet. He also owned another Business Brokerage firm called California Business and Franchise Brokers.During his long and impressive career, Roquet made many professional connections —connections that eventually landed him at his current position with <a href="https://1851franchise.com/speedee">SpeeDee</a>. “There are strong ties between my background and the backgrounds of many people at SpeeDee’s parent company FullSpeed Automotive™,” said Roquet, who has worked previously John B. Adams, former president and CEO of FullSpeed Automotive; Wes Stephenson, FullSpeed Automotive president and COO of Franchise Services; Tom Staker, international director of training, and Kevin Kormondy, FullSpeed Automotive CEO.In February 2020, Roquet officially joined the team at SpeeDee. Thus far, Roquet says his time at SpeeDee has been great. “My first priority is that I want to get out and meet as many franchisees and see as many stores as possible,” said Roquet. “We want to provide the best path forward to create additional success for existing franchisees continue with our emphasis on growing SpeeDee.”Roquet went on to say that SpeeDee franchisees are a wonderful group of hard-working individuals. “They’re really working to provide a great service to the public and trying to be the best operators they can be,” said Roquet.&nbsp;“When I check in with franchisees, I want to find out what they like most about being a part of the SpeeDee system and what they would like to see more of. We’re working together to see how we can make SpeeDee continue to thrive as the number-one brand in automotive service and oil changes.” &nbsp;The investment level for opening a SpeeDee Oil Change center ranges from $197,305 to $537,970 with a $35,000 franchise fee. SpeeDee offers veterans and first responders a discount on their franchise fee and a substantial royalty rebate for their first two years of business. Candidates should demonstrate financial capability of a minimum $250,000 net worth and $60,000 to $75,000 in liquid assets, per unit developed.
