GYMGUYZ has reached a crucial milestone in its movement toward national growth, opening its first franchised location outside of New York, in Kansas City, Kansas. The five-year-old mobile fitness and personal-training brand has signed local entrepreneur Tim Marshall to lead expansion in this first Midwestern market, and his first location is scheduled to open this month. “This major expansion effort will help build the GYMGUYZ brand, scale its business opportunities, and allow us to help even more people achieve a fit and active lifestyle,” said Josh York, chief executive and founder of Plainview, New York-based GYMGUYZ. “We’re thrilled to have passionate franchisees such as Tim on board, and we look forward to more major growth milestones as the year continues.” A Kansas City native, Marshall comes to GYMGUYZ with a long history of business successes. Prior to joining the franchise brand, Marshall worked for Honeywell, a nuclear-weapon and airplane manufacturer, as an electrical engineer. After four years with the company, he made the decision to pursue business ownership and took the initiative to research potential franchises. In a stroke of luck, Marshall stumbled across an article highlighting York as a CEO under the age of 35. After seeing York’s passion for GYMGUYZ and the business model, Marshall signed on to become the newest franchisee in the system and bolster the brand’s expansion in the Midwest. “GYMGUYZ provides me the ability to work with my community in a positive way, providing a first-class personal-training experience and physical wellness to residents of all ages and abilities,” Marshall said. “I’m proud to be part of a brand that delivers excellent service and redefines how fitness and training should be experienced.” Trainers use GYMGUYZ methodologies to structure workouts that will help each client meet his or her individual needs, track their progress and stay motivated over the course of a 15-week program.
