To kick off its growth efforts, HHO Carbon Cleaning Systems is looking to Nashville, Tennessee.
The emerging hydrogen carbon cleaning franchise based in Metropolis, Illinois specializes in removing carbon buildup in a wide range of both gasoline and diesel engine components. The brand’s methods have been proven to reduce emissions and have been recognized as a clean energy solution.
But how does it all work? HHO Carbon Clean Systems uses distilled water and electrolysis to produce hydrogen gas, which is then filtered through the engine. If performed regularly, the process prevents carbon buildup, resulting in increased fuel economy and higher quality, long-term engine performance.
According to Cord Koch, who is the director of marketing and franchise development at HHO Carbon Clean Systems, the brand is targeting Nashville because of its close proximity to its home office in Metropolis. With home nearby, Koch wants to be available to support franchisees in whatever they might encounter.
“The core reason is that [Nashville] is close, and if we need to troubleshoot or give any kind of support or help with sales, we’re within a day's drive time. The accessibility is the biggest factor,” said Koch. “We want to be hands-on and ensure our franchisees’ success. Up until this point we’re been operating HHO as a mobile service business, and we haven’t had a satellite location. Now we want to have that proximity from the start.”
But proximity isn’t the only reason HHO Carbon Clean Systems is looking to Nashville — it’s the larger population of truck drivers that pass through the city daily that makes the Music City an easy target.
“Nashville is a regional shipping hub for fleets,” said Koch. “There are three major interstates that all come together in Nashville, with a combined six legs reaching out in all directions. The shipping hub employs 25,000 medium and heavy-duty truck drivers full time in the Greater Nashville area, they have many trucks to go along with them.”
“50% of the U.S. population is within a 650-mile radius of Nashville. There is so much good road access to the population centers of the U.S. It’s all about location, location, location,” he continued.
And as far as who HHO Carbon Systems is looking for to represent the brand, Koch notes that the ideal franchisee should be someone who has a bit of technical experience, but more importantly, they should be someone who knows how to hustle.
“The ideal franchisee should be somebody who has technical experience or ability. It’s not a complicated process, but they should know the basics of engines,” said Koch. “They should also be able to hustle. They need to be good talkers who are able to build relationships. At the end of the day, you’re selling a service that a driver or operator will see the performance benefits of immediately, but for decision makers it will take time to track fuel savings, decreased cost of repair and reduced downtime. So our franchisees need to be willing to invest that time and effort up front, knowing that the results will come and with it fleet maintenance contracts.”
While it's a big city, Koch says Nashville has that same small-town feel that Metropolis does and hopes that will help to attract the same kind of hardworking franchisees HHO Carbon Cleaning Systems needs on its journey toward successful growth.
“Nashville is our type of town,” he said. “It feels much more like a town than it does a city, and the people who populate it have the same rural Mid-South values as HHO — honesty, kindness, generosity, hard work. That’s the kind of energy we hope to attract.”
For similar reasons, HHO Carbon Cleaning Systems looks to grow in markets near Metropolis: St. Louis, Missouri; Memphis, Tennessee: and Evansville, Indiana.
The initial investment to franchise with HHO Carbon Clean Systems ranges from $70,800 to $131,600, including a $22,000 franchise fee. For more information on franchising with HHO, please visit https://www.hhocarboncleansystems.com/.
