With this in mind, he has developed a training process to ensure new franchisees have not only the technical business knowledge they will need, but also the practical in-the-field skills that will allow them to truly understand the work.&nbsp;“In the classroom time, we’re going to cover marketing, managing your team’s proposals — basically everything you need to do in the office to run your business,” Spiece explained. “Then when we go out in the field, we’re going to cover actually talking to the clients, presenting them with those proposals, and how to go out and do the work for tree work — pruning and removal — and plant health care, which is treating trees and shrubs.”Spiece has also designed an ongoing training model that will ensure franchisees receive supplemental virtual education at least once per year.There is also ongoing support available to franchisees who may need additional information regarding anything they have learned along the way.“We do have a support team of four, myself included,” Spiece said. “We’re also developing training videos so that franchisees can do a quick refresh if they need.”The team of four includes operational, sales and marketing expertise, as well as the knowledge of a certified arborist.New franchisees will begin with a single service — tree care.
