Health and nutrition are increasingly top of mind for consumers across the globe. That&rsquo;s why McDonald&rsquo;s is making an effort to reduce the amount of calories, sodium and saturated fat that children are eating. <a href="http://www.foxbusiness.com/features/2018/02/15/mcdonalds-is-slimming-down-its-happy-meals-heres-how.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=how-mcdonalds-is-slimming-down-its-happy-meals-2705582" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">According to Fox Business</a>, the chain announced that it&rsquo;s eliminating cheeseburgers and chocolate milk from its Happy Meals.

In addition to eliminating these products from Happy Meals, McDonald&rsquo;s announced that it wants all of its Happy Meals to have 600 calories or less, and less than 650 milligrams of sodium. The brand also wants 10 percent of meals&rsquo; calories to come from saturated fat and added sugar. However, even though these items will no longer officially be on the menu, parents can still ask for them.
