How School Districts Can Prepare Students for Standardized Testing
With the onset of COVID-19 in 2020, the Department of Education gave states the freedom to opt out of annual standardized tests. In 2021, states could choose when to administer the test and also had the option to offer a shortened version. While the flexibility was warranted, it also made it more difficult to understand exactly how well students are performing compared to pre-pandemic levels.
