Oregon's First Jollibee in Hillsboro Draws Campers for Grand Opening
The iconic chicken brand sparked excitement among Oregon residents who previously crossed state lines to get their hands on the brand's "Chickenjoy."

Quick-service franchise Jollibee opened its first location in Oregon in late May, and the development had guests camped out overnight, excited to welcome the concept to their state. Previously, fans in Oregon would travel to Washington state to get their hands on Jollibee favorites like Chickenjoy, chicken sandwich and peach mango pies. . Now, it’s available in the Portland suburb of Hillsboro.
Anthony, one of the people who camped out ahead of the opening, told KATU that he would drive to Tukwila or Seattle for Jollibee.
"It's a very popular establishment and they're known for their Chickenjoy and a lot of Filipino dishes," he said. “I grew up with it when I was a kid.”
To celebrate the historical opening, Jollibee awarded the first 50 people in line with a free bucket of fried chicken every month for a year and a t-shirt, and continued celebrating the opening with special gifts in the following days.
