Jollibee was recently featured on the NRN Take Away Podcast, where Beth Dela Cruz, president of Jollibee North America, joined host Sam Oches to discuss the brand's remarkable growth in the U.S., its differentiated menu strategy and the disciplined approach behind its expansion. During the conversation, Dela Cruz explained how Jollibee has evolved from serving primarily Filipino American communities to becoming a mainstream restaurant brand, driven by strong word-of-mouth, social media buzz and a menu that balances familiar QSR favorites with distinctive Filipino-inspired flavors.
“We actually have an AUV of $4.9 million,” Dela Cruz said. “That's about two and a half times higher than many of the other chicken players in the QSR. We've also experienced 66 consecutive months of same-store sales growth. The economics are there. People are excited about this. But we wanted to make sure we find the right franchisees because we're very passionate about making sure the quality is there and that people experience the Filipino hospitality that defines our brand.”
The duo also talked about Jollibee's growth strategy and focus on preserving the brand's culture as it expands through franchising.
“I'm just really very excited about the growth potential,” Dela Cruz said. “In the early years, we even thought the United States might be too sophisticated for Jollibee. We could never have imagined reaching this point, where we're excited about franchising the brand. Now there's tremendous interest from franchise candidates, and we really believe we have the opportunity to compete side by side with the biggest players in the industry.”
