Carlos Lozano, a former investment banker and lifetime entrepreneur, decided to pursue ownership with&nbsp;<a href="https://www.treecarefranchising.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=former-banker-signs-as-first-joshua-tree-experts-franchisee-2723385" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Joshua Tree Experts</a> after&nbsp;personally experiencing the lack of high-quality tree care services available in his area.“I got out of the banking business four or five years ago and ended up forex trading and day trading while I figured out what I wanted to do next,” said Lozano. “Joshua Tree Experts actually came out of necessity. I had some trees I needed taken care of, and it was like pulling teeth trying to get someone to come out. After I went through the process and finally got service completed, I realized that there was such a need for a good tree service company in my area, especially if the level of service I received is what everyone is dealing with.”Lozano briefly considered purchasing an existing private business but decided that franchising was the more appealing investment option due to the investment range and available support. When he came across Joshua Tree Experts, he knew it was a great fit.“It was obvious just from speaking with them — that team is fantastic,” said Lozano. “What it really comes down to is that the team is not just a bunch of franchise executives who have never dealt with a tree. They really work in the tree business, and to me, that’s worth way more than someone who says they're a C-level executive and will give business advice but has never worked with trees. Their team is really what caught me.”<h3>Lozano’s Role with the Franchise</h3>As Joshua Tree Expert’s first franchisee, Lozano said he is looking forward to playing a crucial role in establishing a strong foundation with the brand as it continues to grow. As the first local owner, Lozano feels confident he will have more than enough support as he grows and sees an opportunity to grow to be a model franchisee.“This allows me to set myself as the example and push the boundaries for other upcoming franchisees,” he said. “I want people to see me and think, ‘He did this, he’s implementing the proven systems laid out to follow, and he’s expanding.’”As he grows his own business, Lozano will lean heavily on his values. Simply put, if he would not recommend a service or course of action to his own mother, Lozano will not make that recommendation to a customer.“I have simplified and streamlined my values and decision making process by saying, ‘Is this something I would, in fairness, provide my mother?’” he said. “If I would do it for my family members, I would do it for my clients.”<h3>Growth with Joshua Tree Experts</h3>As he lays a foundation for his own success and engages in conversations with the leadership team to hone systems and processes, Lozano is ready to support other franchisees any way he can. He explains that they are&nbsp;all part of a family and feels everyone should help one another if possible.“One of the things I really want to drive home with my mentees is that it’s important to expand who you are,” said Lozano. “If you’re here, no matter how great you think you are, how can we make you better? I will find out how each owner wants to grow so I can better support them.
