Keyrenter was founded in Midvale, Utah, in 2007 by Aaron Marshall and Nate Tew. The company was created to improve an industry that it says had developed a poor reputation for customer service by building better systems, processes and technology for property management. Keyrenter began franchising in 2014, expanding its model to entrepreneurs interested in serving residential rental property owners.
