With 17 restaurants open and another 226 sold, Layne’s Chicken Fingers, the Soon to be Famous™ chicken finger franchise, is seeing unprecedented growth. As the brand continues to lay the groundwork for expansion in states nationwide, the team is also focused on selling out its home state. Layne’s is already known and loved in Texas, and making the brand easily accessible to guests across the state will mark a major milestone.

“We’re rapidly approaching full saturation in Texas, and there are only two major territories remaining: West Texas and the Rio Grande Valley,” said CEO Garrett Reed. “Both of these markets are full of opportunity for us given the wide-reaching demand that exists for Layne’s across the state as well as local demographics and economic trends.”

While establishing Layne’s presence in these markets is a priority for the team, Reed says the process will still be highly selective. For such monumental growth, Layne’s is looking to work with owners who have the experience, infrastructure and drive to establish and run multiple successful locations.

“Our reputation has been built on quality, consistency and a true love for what we do, and we’re looking for owners who share our vision and commitment to the brand and fellow franchisees,” said Chief Operating Officer Samir Wattar. “We are open to exploring opportunities with different types of owners, but it will be important that whoever we ultimately end up working with is well-resourced and prepared to develop the brand correctly in these markets.”

Though they will be selective about who they ultimately choose to partner with, Reed and Wattar are advising potential franchisees to inquire soon and begin exploring the brand if they want to develop these regions. As it has grown, Layne’s has captured the attention of major multi-unit operators with brands like Whataburger, Moe’s and The Halal Guys, thanks to its incredible reputation with guests, strong revenue trends and operational excellence.

“I’m always looking for things that validate what we’re doing, and signing a huge multi-unit deal with a franchisee who is very experienced in the restaurant space and owns a high-performing national brand is just that,” Wattar said. “We’re certainly catching the eyes of big restaurant operators, and that trend will only get stronger as we continue to grow.”

This interest and the upcoming milestone of selling out Texas both represent a significant business achievement and serve as a testament to the brand’s enduring appeal. With nearly all of the territories sold out, Layne’s is one step closer to becoming the hometown chicken finger spot in communities across the state — then nationwide.
