Los Angeles Times: Dunkin’ Donuts Eliminates All Artificial Dyes from Doughnuts at U.S. Stores

Dunkin’ Brands will eliminate artificial dyes from all of its menu items by the end of 2018.

The new year may have just started, but Dunkin’ Donuts is already getting a jumpstart on one of its resolutions. According to an article in the Los Angeles Times, the brand has removed all artificial dyes from doughnuts sold in the U.S.

In a press release quoted by the Los Angeles Times, Dunkin’ Brands’ Chief Marketing Officer said, “After years of research and development, we are thrilled to be taking such a big step in providing guests with simpler ingredients while still delivering the delicious taste and vivid colors expected with our donuts.”

Dunkin’ Brands isn’t limiting its New Year’s Resolution to artificial flavoring in doughnuts—the parent company behind Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins—plans to remove artificial dyes from all food and beverage menu items by the end of 2018.
