It seems that more woes have befallen on <a href="http://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en/home.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=mcdonalds-sued-in-discrimination-case-new-franchise-questions-arise-1017" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">McDonald's</a>. A group of former McDonald's employees from Virginia are suing the fast-food giant for both racial discrimination and sexual harassment. The nine plaintiffs claim they were wrongfully let go last year and replaced with mostly white workers (eight of the plaintiffs are African-American and one is Hispanic).

To add to the already noteworthy law case, the former workers are naming McDonald's corporate as a defendant in the lawsuit, meaning that the plaintiffs believe McDonald's as a franchise should be held responsible for the actions that occurred in that particular franchised location and pay damages. The lawsuit states claims of harassment of women and racism toward minorities.

"In order to maximize its profit, McDonald's Corporate has control over nearly every aspect of its restaurants' operations," the lawsuit asserts. "Though nominally independent, franchised McDonald's restaurants are predominantly controlled by McDonald's."
