Mr. Gatti’s Pizza, the Texas-based pizza franchise with over 230 units, has sold a majority stake in the company to Dallas-based OneRyan Global LLC, a family office and multi-unit franchisee.

While the financial terms were not shared, the move is less of a surprise than it might sound. OneRyan has been steadily increasing its involvement with the brand since 2022, first as an operator of family entertainment centers and later as a minority owner. This latest deal simply formalizes a relationship that has already been deepening for years.

Over the past several months, OneRyan has taken on a bigger role in the system. The firm acquired Mr. Gatti’s flagship corporate-owned location in Austin, which pushed the brand into a fully franchised model. It also opened a new family entertainment center in Big Spring, Texas. Today, Mr. Gatti’s has more than 230 locations open or in development across Texas and the Southeast, split between buffet-style entertainment centers and smaller delivery and carryout restaurants.

“Our deep appreciation for the Mr. Gatti’s brand, combined with our firsthand experience operating locations across multiple markets, made this acquisition a natural and exciting opportunity,” OneRyan CEO Amanda Ryan said in a statement. “Mr. Gatti’s has built a category-leading platform in dining and family entertainment, supported by an exceptional network of franchisees. We look forward to helping the brand continue to grow and thrive.”

That history runs deep. Mr. Gatti’s dates back to 1964, when it opened as The Pizza Place before being renamed a few years later in honor of founder James Eure’s wife. More than 60 years on, the brand is betting that an owner with hands-on operating experience and long-term ties to Texas is the right steward to carry that legacy forward.
