In an interview on QSR Magazine, Kyle Noonan and Josh Sepkowitz explained how they co-founded MUTTS Canine Cantina, a fast casual-bar-dog park hybrid which began franchising in 2018.

“We thought this was a great opportunity to be able to tap into the millennial market where they don’t want to leave their pet at home or hire a pet sitter,” Noonan said. “They want to be able to take their dogs to work or go out to eat with their dog. There was no concept built with that in mind, so we thought it was a great opportunity.”

Noonan and Sepkowitz said that the concept encourages guests to stay for hours socializing and enjoying the full bar, burgers, fries and shakes. MUTTS also has boozy popsicles meant to be added to its most popular item: frozen margaritas. Of course, there are also Pupsicles.

The franchise reportedly has two units in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and are targeting growth in fair-weather Sunbelt states. Franchise brands that have dog policies: Take note.
