Convenience is becoming a key factor for companies in the restaurant industry. Baskin-Robbins CEO Nigel Travis told Nation’s Restaurant News is a recent article that the brand is testing out delivery. The delivery testing is in its very early stages-- available only at 10 units in Los Angeles and Chicago for a couple of weeks.

“In the U.K., everyone’s talking about delivery. It has a very big future in the restaurant industry, not only in QSR, but in casual dining and also very high-end restaurants. If you go to London, just about every restaurant has delivery now.”

Baskin-Robbins along with sister brand Dunkin' Donuts are using the third-party delivery service DoorDash to do their testing. Along with delivery, they are also trying out curbside service and ordering ahead with their mobile app, on top of their already successful drive-thrus.

“The key is on the go,” Travis said. “Dunkin’ will drive convenience more and more in the future.”
