Nation’s Restaurant News: Report: Despite Weak Same-Store Sales, Restaurants Keep Building

National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Performance Index increases in July due to strong capital spending.

According to a recent Nation’s Restaurant News article, a small increase in the NRA’s Restaurant Performance Index from June to July of 0.3 was due to one main reason—capital expenditures. This kind of spending shows that while sales may be weak, owners and operators are feeling confident about their own futures.
