Nation's Restaurant News: 5 Japanese chains that are growing in the U.S.

Asian flavors continue to be in high demand in the U.S., in fact, Nation's Restaurant News noted that more than 50 percent of American consumers would like more Asian-inspired dishes to be brought to the states. So, it comes as no surprise that more and more Japanese chains are making their way to the U.S. in order to feed the desire for unique Asian food offerings. Below are five chains who are targeting North America for growth opportunities:

• Uncle Tetsu: This restaurant is an expert in ultra-fluffy cheesecakes and has two locations in the U.S. with plans to expand.
• Crackin' Kitchen: This seafood Michelin star restaurant has roots in Hawaii and is under the Japanese conglomerate Toridoll Holdings Corp. The chain is just one restaurant the portfolio of Toridoll which operates 1,396 worldwide restaurants.
• Junkichi Robata Izakaya: The Asian-inspired gastropub sits under the master franchisee of the Japan-based Hokkaido Ramen Santouka chain and plans to franchise if the concept does well.
• Go! Go! Curry: The Japanese-curry chain made it's U.S. debut in New York and has plans to expand franchise opportunities in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
• Bake Cheese Tart: The Japanese bakery chain is scheduled to bring it's sweetness to San Francisco this spring.

As the demand for Asian flavors continues to grow, potential franchisees can jump on the opportunity to capitalize on this tasty trend.
