Neighborhood Kids, the faith-based preschool concept, is working to expand in multiple Florida markets including Miami, West Palm Beach, Orlando and Tampa. Neighborhood Kids preschools have been a staple in many Florida communities since 1978. After persisting through new location openings, a pandemic, rebranding and a shift in paradigm, it remains clear that the demand for the school is still strong.

“We’d like to have Neighborhood Kids franchise owners situated strategically in communities in South Florida and Central Florida,” explained Frank Toral, CEO of Neighborhood Kids. “We are seeking franchise owners in communities that can support large preschools throughout Florida and then ultimately, if that goes well, to begin opening up schools across the south and beyond.”

Toral explained that, since January 2021, all Neighborhood Kids locations have remained at capacity with additional students on waiting lists. This is not uncommon for private Christian schools. We are seeing a strong parental shift toward faith-based schools.

For example, he said, “There are 146 private Christian schools in Palm Beach County. They’re all on waiting lists. Is that just coincidental, or does it  say something about the culture’s response to what little kids are being exposed to in public and secular early education?”

Similarly, Jacksonville, Florida is third on the national list of most religious institutions per population with a total of 1,488 places of worship. Yet, parents are still left searching for faith-based preschool programs to fill the demand.

“Neighborhood Kids has a commitment to positively impact neighborhoods across Florida by providing exceptional early education together with foundational family values,” Toral said.

To Neighborhood Kids, this means bringing safe, fun faith-based learning to early childhood education in Florida and beyond. Expanding first in Florida will allow franchise owners to receive nearby support and training as well as leverage the existing reputation that Neighborhood Kids has obtained in the area.

“We believe that Florida families are ready to embrace a faith-based preschool to help all children discover their God-given potential.”
