Former Software Development Professional, Conrad Lamyuen, Signs for Paris Baguette Restaurant in Cary, NC
Paris Baguette is developing rapidly in the region thanks to the brand's fresh, in-demand offerings.

Paris Baguette, the bakery café franchise with more than 4,000 units globally, is continuing a strong growth streak with the recent signing of a single-unit agreement to grow in Cary, North Carolina.
Conrad Lamyuen, a Cary resident, former software development professional and local entrepreneur is bringing a second location to the community, opening in December 2023.
“When looking for the right franchise opportunity, Paris Baguette was the ideal fit because of its amazing product line, store design and proven response from communities throughout the United States,” said Lamyuen.
Lamyuen was a mobile games developer and distributor in the software development industry when he became interested in diversifying his business. With a business partner in New York who had seen the success of Paris Baguette in the area, the two agreed that the family-friendly, high-end Cary community would be a great fit for Paris Baguette’s newest restaurant.
Lamyuen added that he looks forward to having a local impact, employing residents from the area and making connections with other business owners. As he looks to the future, his long-term goal certainly aligns with that of the Paris Baguette corporate team: to establish even more locations and make Paris Baguette’s fresh, high-quality bakery items a staple in communities nationwide.
“We are thrilled to announce additional expansion within North Carolina. There’s a tremendous amount of opportunity in the bakery café space,” explained Mark Mele, chief development officer. “No one else is doing what we are on the same scale, and that’s attracting a lot of attention. It’s a really exciting time for us as we continue seeing growth through franchise expansion and year-over-year revenue numbers.”
The Cary community is one of many that are a great fit for the Paris Baguette concept. Because the business provides a bakery café experience that is becoming increasingly difficult to find, Paris Baguette restaurants bring something fresh to each community they enter.
“What we have, a true bakery café, is something that no one else is doing,” Mele explained. “There are a lot of cafés or bakeries that supposedly would make their products fresh in the past, but they have shifted toward more of an eatery model — some have even taken ‘bakery’ out of their names! We want to bake bread, pastries and cakes fresh every day, and our passion makes the product absolutely great. That’s a key differentiator.”
The recent growth is in line with Paris Baguette’s larger growth goals for the next few years. In an effort to reach the 1,000-unit mark in the U.S. by 2030, the concept is seeking passionate franchisees interested in serving people in a welcoming neighborhood establishment.
With locations scattered through northern Virginia, Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas, the Southeast presents a prime opportunity for expansion. The Paris Baguette name is gaining traction in the area, but there are still plenty of available territories.
The total investment to franchise with Paris Baguette ranges from $528,270 and $1,638,554, including a $50,000 franchise fee. For more information, please visit https://parisbaguette.com/franchising/.
