PepsiCo’s mission to reduce its carbon footprint and make the world a greener place has kicked it up a notch this week. The brand celebrated Earth Day with the announcement of its new foodservice beverage stations specially designed for reusable bottles, reports Fortune. This goes hand-in-hand with the company’s pledge that a quarter of its plastic packaging will come from recycled materials by 2025.

Pepsi’s new “hydration platform” reportedly dispenses six flavors of sugar-free carbonated water. Individual consumers will have the ability to adjust the levels of carbonation, temperature, and flavors. A corresponding app will let users save their preferences, track daily water consumption and count the number of plastic bottles they’ve successfully sidestepped.

Fortune notes that in 2016, sales of bottled water surpassed soda for the first time—and while Pepsi is inching toward going plastic-free like other influential brands, the soda company is clearly aiming to remain relevant while staying true to its bubbly nature. The hydration platforms will not be branded, as Pepsi plans to create a “new and distinct brand” around the product.
