Pet Wants Launches Nationwide ‘Pack Gives Back’ Campaign to Support Local Pet Shelters and Rescues

The initiative provides an easy platform for local Pet Wants franchise owners to match customer donations towards pet rescues, shelters and adoptions agencies.

Pet Wants, a leading national provider of fresh, healthy pet food, is once again showcasing its deep commitment to pet wellness and community engagement with the nationwide launch of its “Pack Gives Back” campaign this September. The ambitious goal for this year’s program is to donate 25,000 pounds of nutritious food to local shelters, rescues and K9 organizations across the country.

Pet Wants has run this initiative locally for several years, empowering franchisees to connect with and support pet welfare organizations in their communities. However, 2024 marks the first time the brand has taken the program to the national stage, with over 75% of its franchise locations participating in this massive effort.

“This has been a local program that we have provided the template for our franchisees for several years,” said Pet Wants President DeNita Carani. “We have franchisees that have been executing on a local level for the past few years, but this year we decided we wanted to do it at a national level with a much bigger scope. Our franchisees have formed partnerships with pet support organizations in their own local communities.”

The “Pack Gives Back” campaign is a collaborative effort between Pet Wants’ corporate team and its passionate franchisees, who are deeply invested in their local communities. Throughout September, customers will have the opportunity to purchase a pound of Pet Wants food to be donated, and Pet Wants will match that donation with an additional pound. This means that every contribution is doubled, ensuring that more pets in need receive high-quality, nutritious meals.

“We will be tracking the donations and figuring out how close we are getting to our goal, and also financially supporting our franchisees in their efforts,” Carani said. “We hope to get this food to feed cats and dogs in need.”

The program’s expansion underscores Pet Wants’ unwavering dedication to pet wellness. The brand’s franchisees, many of whom already partner with local shelters and rescues, are driven by a shared passion for improving pet health and nutrition. This campaign provides a unique opportunity for them to unite under a common cause and make a significant impact on a national level.

“This truly represents Pet Wants as a brand and as franchisees,” Carani said. “The one unifying thing for all our franchisees is their passion for pet wellness and nutrition, and most already have organizations that they work with on a day-to-day basis. This gives us that one opportunity to come together as a national brand and make that significant impact. Twenty-five thousand pounds of food is going to feed thousands of dogs and cats throughout the country.”

The “Pack Gives Back” campaign not only highlights Pet Wants’ commitment to pet health but also strengthens the bond between franchise owners and their communities. By working together to support local pet welfare organizations, Pet Wants and its franchisees are making a meaningful difference in the lives of countless animals in need.
