Pool Scouts Residential Pool Cleaning Franchise Targets Louisiana for Brand Growth

The brand is especially interested in signing franchisees in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Shreveport for prime Bayou State expansion.

Pool Scouts was founded in 2016 and has since grown to 42 territories across eight states. The growing pool services brand is making waves as a franchise opportunity thanks to low startup costs, an efficient business model, multiple revenue streams and business conversion opportunities.

While swimming pools may be thought of as solely warm-weather venues, the brand is viable in all types of climates. Even franchisees with territories in cooler, seasonal climates are able to make the most of their business year-round and earn additional revenue through pool opening and closing services

Less than five years after its inception, Pool Scouts is rapidly expanding and has identified Louisiana as a prime spot for further franchise growth. Pool Scouts specifically sees great potential in the cities of Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Shreveport and their surrounding areas, anticipating that each market can support at least one franchisee—and keep that person exceptionally busy.

“These three metropolitan areas have a high concentration of residential pool owners in small areas,” President Michael Wagner said. “Pool ownership data shows there can be as many as 660 target customers in just one zip code in these cities. Then there’s the weather. Louisiana’s warmer climate and general lack of seasonality mean pools often stay open year-round.”

The timing is certainly ripe to franchise with Pool Scouts. The brand just came off of an exceptional year of growth, having serviced more than 3,500 customers in 2019, and has plans to launch several new franchisees 2020. To further the brand’s growth, several of the brand’s existing franchisees have opted to open more territories.

“We have a number of franchisees expanding into new territories, which has contributed greatly to overall brand momentum,” Wagner said. “In 2019 we had some stellar franchisees who performed exceptionally well and really blew out the projections and numbers we had for them. That was very exciting to see.”

Pool Scouts has also enjoyed regional growth and recognition, which bodes well for its plans to expand into the Bayou State. For one, the brand recently signed on a franchisee to open a territory in nearby Biloxi, Mississippi. The brand is also doing exceptionally well in Texas thanks to franchisees such as Mike Blake of Dallas, who converted his pool cleaning business into a Pool Scouts franchise, and Brent Berridge in the Houston area.

Philanthropic-minded franchisees can also take heart: Pool Scouts entered a charitable partnership with the USA Swimming Foundation in 2019 to increase water safety awareness.

“This is a really exciting time to be part of the Pool Scouts brand,” Wagner said. “And with the current uncertainty around our country’s economic future as a result of recent events, now is the perfect time to take your future into your own hands through business ownership. Franchisees in Louisiana, especially in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Shreveport, would be sitting on a gold mine of opportunity.”

The startup costs for a Pool Scouts franchise range from $76,400 to $139,100. The franchise fee is $20,000. To learn more about franchising with Pool Scouts, visit
