Pool Scouts, a 100-plus unit pool maintenance and cleaning franchise, is fresh off their most profitable year yet in 2021, and in the first quarter of this year, they kept that momentum going strong. January through March of 2022 brought more successes in terms of both revenue and expansion.

The franchise saw a 61% increase in revenue in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of last year. Much of the tailwind behind Pool Scouts’ success has to do with the major increase in pools built recently. The more pools built, the more customers the brand acquires and the more it grows.

“During the pandemic, people have been investing money in their homes, and building has been astronomical as far as the growth over the past couple of years,” said Michael Wagner, president of Pool Scouts.

During Q1 of this year, the company celebrated the signings of eight territories, which will see the brand expand into two critical new markets: Connecticut and Michigan. In addition, 10 new franchisees opened their doors so far this year.

“We started out great. We've been really busy with both franchise development and from an operational perspective, busy signing franchisees and launching franchisees that came in last year or this year,” Wagner said. “It's been a really strong year so far, and it doesn't look like it's going to slow down anytime soon, which is great.”

With this strong momentum, the brand is well on track to hit their goals for awarding 20 new franchisees in 2022. Wagner explained that Q2 is their busiest time of year, as the summer season gets closer and warm temperatures when people use their pools more. They expect a great deal of demand from customers, as well as franchisee interest as well.

“We've started to really hone in on geographic concentration in some areas. We got a lot of really exciting things moving the brand forward and bringing in new franchisees,” Wagner said. “We have a bullish attitude towards 2022 and it looks like we're in for a really, really strong next 12 to 24 months.”
