Power Brands: Hounds Town USA and Wireless Zone Are Winning at Franchise Growth

Hounds Town USA celebrates 20 years in business while Wireless Zone looks ahead to 2020 growth.

Hounds Town USA and Wireless Zone are winning at franchise growth.

In 2019, Hounds Town USA opened four new locations and signed nearly 20 new franchisees across a nine-unit deal entering seven new markets, including Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Orlando, Palm Coast, Wilmington, Raleigh and Maryland. This year, the doggie-daycare franchise is celebrating 20 years in business with 7–10 planned openings and 15 projected signings, adding 20–30 new franchisees to the system.

Overall, the franchise’s system-wide revenue increased nearly 40% from 2018 to 2019, thanks in large part to the new locations — all which have exceeded revenue goals and growth expectations — as well as the success of veteran locations, who continue to grow revenue year after year.

In 2020, the brand is targeting Colorado, Austin, Texas, and a number of markets in Florida for its next locations.

Wireless Zone, the nation’s largest wireless retail franchisor, has had a similarly prosperous couple of years. In the past 24 months, the franchise has opened 12 locations organically — including their first two in Tennessee — acquired 18 existing agent locations, and converting 20 existing agent locations into Wireless Zone stores.

This year, the Verizon Wireless retailer is projected to open 10 organic locations, 20 acquisitions and 35 conversions in 2020.

Wireless Zone has proven dedicated to giving back as it continues to grow. In collaboration with the Foundation for Giving, the brand’s franchisees granted a total of $670,00 to charities and special project grants and selected nominated by franchise owners. Beneficiaries include Autism Speaks, Best Friends Animal Rescue, Children’s Tumor Foundation, Homes for our Troops, Make-A-Wish, No Kid Hungry, Sandy Hook Promise and St. Jude Hospital and Research Center.
