Executive Q&A: Jeremiah Fiel, Founder and Partner of Power Trucks USA
1851 Franchise: Can you tell us about the history of the brand?
Jeremiah Fiel: I started out at a young age building houses, which led me into the electrical field, becoming an experienced commercial and residential electrician at 23 years old. While working as an electrician, I founded American Electrical Solutions, a small commercial electrical company in Northern Virginia. I learned at a young age that hard work and determination was the key to success. That mentality has served me well over the years.
After three years of growing American Electrical Solutions, I grew tired of sitting in D.C. traffic, running from job site to job site, so in 2005 I started ASL Off-Road, a niche shop that first specialized in spray-in bed liners and quickly blossomed into a full service automotive aftermarket accessory sales and installation shop. In 2018 I partnered with Jeff Shiring and Whitecap Enterprises to take the business to the next level, thus Power Trucks USA was born. The name was inspired by our patriotic respect for our veterans and service members. Personally, my father served in the Marine Corps and my grandfather served in the Air Force and Navy.
I quickly became the authority in truck accessories in my community and connected with the dealerships in the surrounding areas to mutually help each other grow. Last year, Jeff and I began looking into ways to grow the Power Trucks USA brand and immediately recognized the potential benefits of expanding the company’s footprint through franchising. We’ve distinctly positioned Power Trucks USA to offer multiple, categorically different B2C and B2B revenue streams - Automotive Aftermarket Accessory Sales and Installations, General Automotive Maintenance, and Commercial Truck/Fleet Accessory Sales. After over 15 years of streamlining these processes into a very successful business, I wanted to pay it forward by offering this proven business operating system to the public as a turn-key franchise opportunity.

Fiel: We perform all truck, Jeep, car and SUV aftermarket accessory sales, service and installations. These include everything from lift kits, wheels, bumpers, lighting, tonneau bed covers, toolboxes, hitches and winches to window tinting, audio systems and floor mats. In addition, we also perform all general maintenance services, including oil changes, brakes, tires and engine repairs on all types of vehicles.

When I was building the business, I was scared to death to give myself time off. But soon, I saw that the business could run successfully, and I could have the time to drive my kids to school every day or leave the office early enough to coach baseball or volleyball. Most other shops operate at odd and unreliable hours, but we always open at 8 A.M. and close at 6 P.M.
In addition, Power Trucks USA franchisees can tap into multiple revenue streams like oil changes, breaks, engine and transmission work. That is part of the reason why not many concepts have the kind of ROI potential that we do in our segment. We had 41.3% gross profit last year.
