That commitment to community led <a href="https://1851franchise.com/wirelesszone" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Wireless Zone</a> to establish the <a href="https://wirelesszone.com/foundation/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=premier-verizon-franchisor-wireless-zones-annual-charity-golf-tournament-is-a-philanthropic-hole-in-one-2710250" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving</a> in 2003 and since then, the Foundation has partnered with charities including <a href="https://wirelesszonefranchise.com/about-franchise/foundation-for-giving/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=premier-verizon-franchisor-wireless-zones-annual-charity-golf-tournament-is-a-philanthropic-hole-in-one-2710250" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Autism Speaks, Feeding America, Children&rsquo;s Tumor Foundation, Veterans Leadership Program and Center for Hospice Care</a>, among others. 

To raise funds in support of these causes, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/WirelessZoneFoundation/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=premier-verizon-franchisor-wireless-zones-annual-charity-golf-tournament-is-a-philanthropic-hole-in-one-2710250" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Wireless Zone&rsquo;s Foundation for Giving</a> organizes events such as a school supply-stuffed backpack giveaway and annual charity golf tournament--to be held this year on June 13.

&ldquo;Wireless Zone is committed to positively impacting the lives of those around us in a very real way,&rdquo; said Brian Murtari, President and Director of Wireless Zone&rsquo;s Foundation for Giving and the brand&rsquo;s Chief Information Officer. &ldquo;Last year, through our charity golf tournament, we were able to raise over $54,000, and we&rsquo;re hoping to raise even more this year.&rdquo;

That&rsquo;s not to mention Wireless Zone&rsquo;s 2018 charitable donation total of over $611,000. It&rsquo;s safe to say the philanthropic brand is making a very real impact.

In addition to the six aforementioned national charities with which Wireless Zone&rsquo;s Foundation for Giving regularly partners, Murtari shared that the Board is also working to add another two national beneficiaries to the 2019 list of recipients. Wireless Zone franchisees can also nominate other charities, both local and national, to receive proceeds from the 2019 Charity Golf Tournament.

&ldquo;Owners can nominate a charity for each store that they own,&rdquo; explained Murtari. &ldquo;The Board determines how the funds will be allocated. As long as the nomination is for a qualified charity, that cause receives a minimum grant. Last year&rsquo;s minimum grant was $1,000 for 122 nominations.&rdquo;

Wireless Zone Retail Product and Planning Manager and Board member Shelley Nemic shared information about the event, saying that in her three years working with the Foundation, she&rsquo;s always seen the course hit its max capacity of 144 players. 

&ldquo;We definitely think we will hit that again this year,&rdquo; Nemic said. 

The 2019 Charity Golf Tournament will be held at Lyman Orchards Golf Course in Middlefield, Connecticut, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nemic shared that registration is tiered into three levels: single, four-player team and sponsor, and the applicable registration fee covers a breakfast, activities, a barbeque lunch and vendor-donated &ldquo;swag,&rdquo; as well as a raffle and silent auction for all participants. 

The day will start with open registration for all those looking to sponsor or play who have not already pre-registered online from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m, then a shotgun start will take place at 9 a.m., followed by a course clearance at 2:30 p.m. After the course is cleared, activities such as the barbecue, auction and raffle will take place, as well as a speech by an affiliated charity guest speaker. The event wraps at approximately 5 p.m.
