McDonald’s is kicking off the new year with eco-friendly goals. According to QSR Magazine, the fast food giant announced on Tuesday that it’s planning to switch to environmentally friendly packaging materials. McDonald’s will also start offering recycling at all of its locations.

Right now, McDonald’s goal is to feature 100 percent of its packaging from recycled, renewable or certifiable sources by 2025. To make that ambitious goal a reality, the brand is going to engage products that have Forest Stewardship Council certification. It’s also planning to eliminate all foam from its packaging by 2019. And even though this isn’t the first time that McDonald’s has made moves to help the environment, the brand still has a long way to go. 50 percent of the brand’s packaging currently comes from approved sources.

In an interview with Reuters cited by QSR Magazine, McDonald’s Chief Supply Chain and Sustainability Officer Francesca DeBiase said, “We have a responsibility to use our scale for good to make changes that will have a meaningful impact across the globe.”
