QSR Magazine: What to Expect from Taco Bell in 2018

The franchise will continue its path of innovation through new menu items and collaborations.

Taco Bell fans can expect the brand to continue its focus on innovation this year. According to a recent article in QSR Magazine, this will manifest through new menu options, use of technology, continued expansion and collaborations.

American fans can expect to see a record-breaking 20 new limited-time-offer menu items throughout the year. Many of these items will be offered at the low price of $1. Based on consumer feedback in test markets, the franchise will decide which items are ready for national rollout.

“The primary factor at the root of our continued success is our innovative spirit. Ever since Glen Bell entered the burger marketplace with tacos, Taco Bell has pushed innovation, accessibility, and affordability. Our fantastic relationship with our franchisees has allowed Taco Bell to fund new technology initiatives for 2018 and beyond," said spokesperson Matt Prince.

Last year, the brand partnered with companies including Lyft, Forever 21 and OpenTable in order to integrate technology further into its system. According to Prince, Taco Bell will continue to pursue comparable relationships in the new year.

2017 was a big year of growth for Taco Bell, and the brand plans to keep this momentum going. The franchise aims to grow to 9,000 locations globally within the next few years.
