Reading Eagle: Franchises: What you need to operate one
There is more to owning a Which Wich Superior Sandwiches franchise than signing on the dotted line.
Franchising is often a misunderstood concept, with entrepreneurs often focusing on the more expensive opportunities without realizing that more attainable options exist. Although leverage is important, it also takes a business savvy opportunist to rise to the challenge.
In order to succeed as a franchisee, one must understand the process. There are fees and approvals associated with owning a franchise that need to be an area of focus prior to opening. According to Which Wich Superior Sandwiches Senior VP of Development, Jeff Vickers, the community should instantly become a priority as it’s easier to expand once you’ve created a solid foundation.
Which Wich specifically looks for franchisees who want to own multiple locations because it not only makes a stronger business but gives them control of the market, Vickers told the Reading Eagle.
To become a Which Wich franchise owner, franchisees must invest about $325,000 which includes buildout. Compared to the $10 million that a Hampton Hotel sold for in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, it seems like quite a bargain.
"We have built a relationship with preferred lenders to where they are already sold on the brand," Vickers told the Reading Eagle. "Then, it's specific individuals selling themselves to the bank."
