In an interview with Restaurant Business, Tony Darden, President and Chief Operating Officer of MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes, describes the collaborative journey that the Dallas-based fast-casual burger chain took in launching its first-ever new restaurant redesign. The new model brings more storage and less noise by distancing the kitchen from Guests in line for their meal.

In addition to the walled-off design, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes now offers a kitchen display system to improve order accuracy and third-party delivery accommodations.

The new model was designed with feedback from franchise owners nationwide, and Darden credits the redesign’s success as a team effort. When asked about the updated digital menu boards, logo and colors, Darden told Restaurant Business, “You want your owners to feel like they’re partners. You don’t want them to feel like you’re doing this to them. It’s been a collaborative journey.”
