McKnight’s Home Care: Right at Home On Track to Surpass Growth Targets for 2024

Having already awarded nine new territories this year, the in-home care franchise expects to surpass growth targets by year-end.

Right at Home, the franchise that offers in-home care to seniors and adults with disabilities who want to live independently, has already awarded nine new territories this year, meaning it is on track to outperform its growth expectations for 2024.

“We do have a goal for 24 more new signings here in 2024 and we are on pace to not only hit that but exceed that,” Jennifer ChaneyRight at Home’s vice president of franchise development, said in an interview with McKnight’s Home Care Daily Pulse. “It’s May — still the first part of the year — but we’re still very diligent about tracking the lead flow and the activity, and so the numbers are showing that we’re on track.”

According to Chaney, one of the things fueling the company’s growth is an increased interest in the senior care industry, particularly as the population of older adults continues to rise. Right at Home's strategic approach has effectively attracted passionate and entrepreneurial individuals with a drive for business ownership towards leading new franchise operations.

“They want to do something that makes an impact on somebody else’s life,” Chaney said. “They want to do something that’s meaningful. They want to get home at the end of the day and be like, ‘I feel really great about what I accomplished today.’”

Right at Home currently has over 700 franchise locations across the United States. Recently, the franchise has been focused on growth in markets such as California, Texas, Iowa and Washington. Keeping all of these locations running successfully requires a strong support infrastructure.

“The franchise owners have a business performance coach that is their go-to point person,” Chaney said. “Behind that coach, there’s a massive group of people — subject matter experts — who are there to help support our franchise owners.”

Technology also plays a crucial role in Right at Home's success, with Chaney encouraging care providers to constantly look for new ways to innovate.

“The biggest mistake I think that any business can make is leaving technology in the past and just sticking with what you have right here and right now,” Chaney said.

Finally, franchises like Right at Home need to stay current with new industry regulations, such as the joint-employer standard that was finalized last October, increasing franchisor liability for the legal faults of franchisees.

“This is a highly regulated business,” Chaney said. “There are always going to be new things that pop up, things that change, and it's our job to make sure that our franchise owners fully understand how it impacts our business now and in the future.”
