What do you want us to know?Sacha Butts: Prior to purchasing the franchise, I served in the military in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee and then became a federal investigator. I started researching home care after my mom was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer. That’s when I got introduced to in-home care. We went through various agencies, and we were fortunate to have one caregiver who was amazing — very supportive and helpful. It made the process so much easier and less stressful. It allowed me to go back to being a daughter, not just a caregiver. I wanted to be able to give that same peace of mind to someone else.1851: What was your perception of franchising prior to becoming a franchisee, and what do you want people to know about franchising now that you are in it?Butts: The statistics for success are much higher when starting a franchise versus building something from scratch. That was a big factor for me — I wanted that support and structure.1851: What made you pick this brand? What excites you most about this company?Butts: Right at Home didn’t just focus on the money. They cared more about&nbsp;why I wanted to do this. Other brands seemed more focused on when you could pay and how much you could invest. Right at Home stood out because they didn’t just let anyone in — they wanted to make sure I was doing it for the right reasons. They also didn’t try to upsell me on multiple territories right away. They encouraged me to start with one, learn the process and grow from there. The emphasis on support after opening was also a big differentiator.1851: What do you hope to achieve with your business? What are your plans for growth?Butts: The long-term goal is to eventually expand to a second territory. Right now, I want to make sure we’re providing excellent care and building strong relationships with the community.1851: What advice do you have for other people thinking about becoming franchise owners?Butts: I was pretty thorough with my research. It was something I had already been thinking about before my mom got sick. I took my time, asked the questions I needed to ask, and reviewed everything carefully. I even read the Franchise Disclosure Document before it was sent to me. I wanted to make sure I had a good understanding and wasn’t rushing into it.
