She began as a housekeeper in a nursing home before moving into caregiving, earning her CNA license and later becoming a medication technician. She went on to pursue an AA degree in Health Care Administration and earned credentials as a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®) and Certified Dementia Practitioner.Her career progressed into leadership when she managed a territory for Homewatch CareGivers for a decade. “I worked for them for 10 years very successfully,” she said. “The company was very young at the time, but we grew and it was fabulous.”In 2015, Griffiths decided to become her own boss, purchasing an Acti-Kare Home Care franchise — the first in Washington at the time. She built it from the ground up, growing to nearly 100 caregivers and earning a strong reputation with clients and the Veterans Administration. “My goal was to sell my business in year seven or eight,” she said, “and I did it.”<h3>Identifying a New Need in Her Own Backyard</h3>After selling, Griffiths moved into a senior living community in Redmond Ridge. There, she began noticing neighbors facing challenges with home upkeep, technology and day-to-day support.“There’s such a need for something,” she said. “Sometimes they don’t have families involved. They don’t have that support.” She often found herself stepping in — installing Ring cameras, offering tech help and advising on home repairs — and began thinking about her next chapter.That search led her to&nbsp;<a href="https://1851franchise.com/senior-care-authority/info">Senior Care Authority</a>. After exploring several franchise models, she connected with their team and felt an immediate alignment with the brand’s mission and people. Within six months had already completed six placements and was working with five additional families.<h3>Leveraging Experience for a Strong Start</h3>For Griffiths, this wasn’t a career change — she was still serving the same population, but now from a different angle. Instead of focusing on keeping people at home through care services, she now helps families navigate the process of moving to senior living communities when it’s the right choice.“My job is not only placement but to help you have a plan,” she said. “We want to guide you to have the right plan, whatever that is. You can say, ‘I want to stay home until I die,’ but is it possible? We need to educate people and help them develop a good plan for their needs.”<h3>Creative, Community-Based Outreach</h3>Griffiths has taken an innovative approach to spreading the word about her services. She partners with local communities to organize small group visits and large community events. “We do it as a group with friends, and I go with them,” she said. “It’s not that intimidating… we’re going for a happy hour or a barbecue.”She also collaborates with professionals such as elder law attorneys, reverse mortgage specialists and senior living community representatives to host joint presentations. “I believe in collaboration and building bridges,” she said. “I do a very short presentation of myself and let them shine.”These events not only raise awareness of local resources but also position her as a trusted guide for seniors and their families long before they’re ready to make a move.<h3>Support That Stands Out</h3>One of the biggest differences for Griffiths has been the ongoing support from Senior Care Authority. “They give you a road map and if you follow that step by step… they want you to succeed,” she said.She meets regularly with her mentor, connects with other franchisees, and takes part in consistent training calls — something she says was missing in her past franchise experience. “They don’t hide people from each other. They want us to communicate,” she said. “I see the consistency. I see that they care.”Griffiths has ambitious plans for the future. “Build a team. Maybe acquire new territory in a year or so,” she said.
