WILMINGTON, N.C. – Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar, the 18-unit seafood restaurant franchise with a presence in six states, is entering the second half of 2025 with an exciting few months ahead. In addition to innovations and developments implemented in the first half of the year, Shuckin’ Shack will soon expand its presence in Georgia with a new opening in Alpharetta and has two more restaurants projected to open late in the fourth quarter or early in 2026, strengthening its presence in the Carolinas.
“Our goal is what it has always been — to steadily open healthy restaurants with good people,” said Jonathan Weathington, CEO. “As we continue to do this, we’re also looking at ways to improve our support structure and operations for our existing system, and we remain focused on being that community hub and partner in the markets we enter.”
Earlier this year, Shuckin’ Shack hosted its annual conference, bringing Franchise Partners together for roundtable discussions and mastermind sessions about financial strategies, marketing innovations and operational improvements.
“Our annual conference is a time for us to celebrate our wins and continue building momentum for what’s next,” Weathington said. “I’m incredibly proud of our Franchise Partners’ dedication and passion for the brand, and we’re consistently impressed as we continue to raise the bar for what Shuckin’ Shack can achieve.”
Another key development in the first half of the year was the rollout of a new point of sale system, which offers a much more in-depth look at back-of-house reporting and serves as an overall upgrade, better supporting Franchise Partners in executing on the model.
Looking forward to the third quarter, Weathington said the entire team is excited for the kickoff of the fourth annual Fresh & Raw Tour. In partnership with Truist, Shuckin’ Shack will host live music events at over a dozen locations, all benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
“We love serving up great seafood and cold drinks. But the Fresh & Raw Tour has created a platform for us to go beyond the standard restaurant experience — to bring people together around a common goal,” Weathington said. “So many people, myself included, have lost loved ones to cancer, and the opportunity to support an organization funding lifesaving research is incredibly meaningful for all of us throughout the Shuckin’ Shack system.”
With strategic developments and a steady commitment to the community and a purpose-driven culture, Shuckin’ Shack continues to see thoughtful, healthy growth with driven entrepreneurs. As it works to continue its expansion, Shuckin’ Shack is looking to grow in key markets across the southeast, including Athens, Columbus and Macon, Georgia; Burlington, Clayton and Kernersville, North Carolina; and Ashburn and Suffolk, Virginia.
