In order to provide information to those craving a food-based business opportunity, Entrepreneur Magazine’s annual Top Food Franchises list showcases the top food franchises of the year divided up by category.

The rankings reflect how each company scored in this year’s Franchise 500, based on an evaluation of more than 150 data points in the areas of costs and fees, size and growth, franchisee support, brand strength and financial strength and stability.

According to the outlet, almost a quarter of the 1,000-plus companies that apply each year for the Franchise 500 ranking are food-based franchises, making the list a great start for those looking to get into restaurant franchising.

Shuckin’ Shack ranked #10 in its respective category, Miscellaneous Full-Service Restaurants. The oyster bar has branded itself as a place where friends and family can enjoy fresh, delicious meals and creative cocktails in a relaxing environment. Starting as a 900-square-foot shop in Carolina Beach, North Carolina, in 2007, the brand began franchising in 2014. Now, Shuckin’ Shack has grown to 16 locations across five states, and soon to be six, with several more locations slated to open by the end of 2021.
